In 2005 researchers on Atlantis decode a section of the Ancient database that reveals the location of an Ancient city even older than Atlantis. The city is called Ithica and its address is revealed in the database. The database entry seems older than anything found before and was severely degraded, but there was mention of a 'massive and renewable' power source as well as a Nexus: a multi-gate platform capable of reaching any gate in any galaxy.
The chance to procure this power source and secure a renewable source of energy for the Earth was simply too good a chance to pass up, no matter the risk. An expedition team is assembled in Atlantis, under the direction of the IOA. The best and brightest from across the planet are recruited.
Doctor Andre Voss is chosen as the Expedition Leader and Major Freya Mcdonnell as the Military Commander for the expedition. Primary security personnel were drawn from the British Royal Marines and Australian SASR. A contingent of pilots, drawn from the Russian Air Force, were also added in anticipation of the new city having jumpers(or some form equivalent). The scientific team was drawn from the best minds in the Stargate program and led by Chief Scientist, Doctor Eugene Spencer.
Together, they will embark on a new adventure in a new galaxy far, far from home.

Stargate Ithica is an AU roleplay based on Stargate Atlantis.
It combines elements of the Stargate TV series as well as elements of the Robotech animated series.

Ithica's power source is discovered and we are introduced to the miracle of protoculture. (Scene by NPC's Doctor Eugene Spencer & Doctor Carl Fillion - directed by Doctor Andre Voss)
Anyone who wants to join a scene as either an NPC or their own character, please PM the person responsible for it. Please note than scene 1 and 2 take place at the same time so you can not have the same character in both.
Aside from these, feel free to post any other character or relationship building posts as well as side-plots and twists you would like to introduce.
Deadline for the completion of the above will be two weeks from today. At that time we will introduce new planned scenes based on the results of the above to move the story forward.
