Trey Quinn III
Trey was all of fourteen by the time his entire family had died and spent three years in an orphanage on his native Caprica before becoming of age. He was smart, and his teachers were keen enough to see his intelligence and recommend a scholarship for him to a prestigious university. He enrolled in the criminal justice program and it was there he met Ashelia Kimball. They hit it off right away, dating all throughout college and eventually marrying just after graduation, both completing their degrees in only two years. Ashe chose to pursue a career in law, while Trey decided to join the Colonial Military.
It was at the Academy he met Caden Blake, as they were both in Flight School, training for proficiency in Vipers and Raptors. Upon graduation, both were assigned to a Viper squadron aboard the Battlestar Galactica, paired together as wingmen. They served a number of tours together, with the calm and methodical Quinn saving the more impulsive Blake on more than one occasion. Eventually, Blake would leave for Command, leaving Trey to bounce around to a few other Battlestar squadrons.
Trey had just been promoted to Squadron Leader aboard the Battlestar Triton when tragedy struck his life yet again. Following a particularly high-profile case in which she served as chief prosecutor, Ashelia Quinn was murdered, the day before Trey was to return home for a scheduled leave. Devastated, he requested a leave of absence which eventually turned into a resignation and an honorable discharge from the military. Driven to find his wife's killers, he joins the police force on Caprica. In another twist of irony, his first vacation is aboard the Seventh Heaven, which flees to the Ingazi Patch following the Cylon attack.

History
Trey's early life was marked by tragedy. When he was only two years old, a freak boating accident claimed the lives of his parents and his younger brother. He and his older sister Calinn managed to survive with only minor injuries by floating on a piece of driftwood until they were rescued. Newly orphaned, they were taken in by their uncle, Cortland Kerack, their mother's sister's husband. He raised them by himself, his wife having died early on in their marriage. It was a tough existence, as Kerack was abusive to both Quinn children, Calinn in particular. She protected her little brother to the best of her abilities, and eventually gave up her own life to save him from their tyrannical uncle, bringing him to the safety of the authorities before dying at Kerack's hands. Their uncle was charged with murder and child abuse, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
