Physical Description		Dea can be rather intimidating when she wants to be. Physical fitness is something she takes seriously. She keeps herself well groomed and has a stare that has been know to burn holes in bulkheads.

General Overview
Its clear from the first time anyone meets Dea that she's put her heart and soul into her duties. Flying is a passion just as much as it is a job. She has never been one to believe something can't be done. More than once Dea has pushed aside her own personal pain when its become necessary. Dea prefers not to dwell on the darker moments. Instead wants to get past that and look forward. That's one reason why her callsign, Phoenix, suits her so well. Like most pilots, Dea enjoys the adrenaline rush of flying such a Viper. On duty she's known to be cold as ice. Not accepting mistakes from herself or her pilots easily. At the same time Dea has learned when to relax. Even now she's been known to have a somewhat wild side. Very few ever see that and those that do, know her well. Not many know that her middle name is Gaia.

Dea was born to Marcus and Amaya Cassini on Sagittaron. Marcus served as XO aboard one of the Battlestars, Prometheus, though he'd begun his career as a pilot. Dea's mother, Amaya, was DCAG and a Flight Instructor aboard that same ship. From an early age she learned the demands of life dedicated to defending the Colonies.

While Dea was still young the family relocated to Caprica. Her younger sisters Haley and Alanna looked up to their older sister. It soon became clear that she'd follow her parent's footsteps and carry on the legacy of pilots in the Cassini line. She grew up with an interest in technology and a love for aviation. With her mother serving as an officer in the Colonial Fleet and her father a diplomat, service to the Colonies is something Dea learned at an early age. Other members of her family had also made a career out of the Colonial Fleet. Outside of her academic studies, Alanna enjoyed Martial Arts and playing Pyramid.

Dea showed both the Academic prowess as well as a natural talent in the cockpit. She spent a brief tour of duty as an enlisted ground crew member before entering the Colonial Fleet Academy. As a Cadet, Dea excelled in her studies.

Along with entering Colonial Fleet service, becoming a pilot was a natural path for her. Dea attended the Colonial Fleet Academy followed by Flight School to pursue her dream of being a Viper pilot. During flight training Dea earned the callsign Phoenix. She had a habit of being able to come to the assistance of her wingmates when least expected.

Phoenix's scores qualified her for Advanced Flight Training. Once she graduated from that, Dea found herself assigned to the Battlestar Daedalus. She served as part of the Air Wing there until fate intervened. Dea found herself transferred to the Battlestar Centaur as an Assistant Squadron Leader. Things in that assignment were going well when she found herself promoted to Squadron Leader.

Recently Dea ended up as a Squadron Leader aboard the Battlestar Megaera. The story behind that is something Dea would rather forget because they only remind her of the Cylon's return.
