Raven never knew her parents for she was an orphan on Aguria. Her schooling was nothing special, for the orphanage she was at, made sure the children where very quiet. Any who acted up, found themselves in a closet sporting a few bruises. She acted up on a few occasions and found herself barely able to walk in the closet. She even took the punishments of a few of the others, so they could be presented to adoptive families.

Raven was never interviewed by any of the families as the orphanage mangers said she was to old, to loud, to gloomy. She would watch as the others in her family found people to love them. As Raven grow up she found that she liked working with machines. She started to work around the orphanage, working on the ground equipment.

On her 18th birthday, she found out that several of the gentleman, liked her to much. Raven had to fight the two of them off. She was battered and bruised, but they when luck they could still walk.

She had made her way down to the local recruitment office, to enlist. Her state of looks didn't go over well. She had to wait several weeks before she was allowed to enlist into the Colonial Navy. For the orphanage was investigated for any wrong doing.


Once Raven was in she worked very hard in her studies. She had a few problems with a few of the other students, with them hitting on her.

Once she graduated from the Academy she was posted to the Scorpion Fleet Shipyards as a Enlisted Engineer. After two years Raven returned to the Academy to attend the Officer Training Program. Once she was finished there she was posted to the Battlestar Pacifica.

Raven served a year on this vessel before she was transferred to the Gunstar Lancer. Because the Pacifica was decommissioned. On the Gunstar Lancer she quickly proved her worth to the Command staff there as they where sent after Pirates. Spending two years on the Lancer was a wonderful experience and she hated to leave, but she was transferred to the Battlestar Valkyrie, under the command of Commander William Adama.

Shortly after the Commander was transferred away, she requested a transfer. Raven disliked the new ships Commander. She was sent back to the Scorpion Fleet Shipyards, until another fleet position opened up. When a position opened on the Gunstar Temperance, she took it.
