Born into a relatively cushy life which led to him wanting to toughen himself up during his later teens. This led to numerous applications to sign up to the Colonial Fleet as an officer candidate, however he was rejected. Enraged, he attempted to prove himself among the officer ranks of the Marines, where after much hard work he earned the respect of his comrades and subordinates. He attempts to be as friendly to his men as possible, although not beyond the appropriate level expected of a leader.
