General Overview
Despite his commanding appearance, Logan is actually a fairly easygoing person, even in the CIC. As a former XO, he knows how to get things done on his own ship, but is slowly learning to delegate duties when his responsibilities as CO force him to focus on several different things at once. He has a reckless streak which has both held him back and gotten him ahead in the past, depending on the circumstances.

Logan Rush was born on Scorpia, the second son of a luthier and a midwife. His upbringing was a happy one, with his family enjoying financial comfort during his adolescent years. That changed when his father's instrument-making business went bankrupt, sending the family into hardship. Logan would often work two jobs after coming home from school to help support the familial income. He even offered to quit school and work full-time, but his parents would not allow it, prioritizing their children's education over all else.

Unfortunate circumstances had his sister leave the family when he was only fifteen, followed shortly by his mother's death. By that time, it was clear that more money was needed, so Logan and his brother enlist in the Colonial Military even though both are underage. Both work as deckhands aboard a number of different Battlestars, including the Galactica and the Triton. Logan's brother returns to Scorpia after a few years to care for their father's ailing health while Logan continues to work. On a whim, he decides to try his hand at flying and enrolls in flight school. He becomes a fairly proficient Raptor pilot and serves a number of tours aboard Battlestars Pegasus and Galactica and Gunstar Prometheus.

His CAG aboard the Galactica recommends him to Command, citing his leadership skills, so Logan takes the offer and attends military college, working his way up to the rank of Captain and securing a spot as Chief Flight Control Officer aboard the Battlestar Pegasus. A few good years and a few well-timed heroic episodes earn him a spot as the XO of the Gunstar Temperance just as she is assigned to BSG-21.
