Physical Description   These days, ”professional” doesn't really factor in when it comes to Warren's outward appearance – neither do any sort of grooming standards. His uniform is old, dirty and unkempt, he's rarely without a cigar in his mouth, and he has a constant five o' clock shadow on his face. He is relatively well built due to his military past, although his age and the fact that he hasn't lately cared about keeping himself in shape has resulted into this not being as obvious. He doesn't smile a lot (never, really) and isn't easy to approach, which may give people the image of him being very gruff. In which case that image would be correct.
Personality & Traits
General Overview
Captain Warren Grant is not a very likeable human being. He is hard and unforgiving, and holds a grudge better then almost anyone. He can be somewhat offensive, as he holds quite conservative opinions on various political and social issues, and he has no problems voicing out these thoughts. He is not religious, however, and considers most of religion to be nonsense.

He does follow the protocol when dealing with his superiors, although it will take quite a lot to earn his true respect and devotion. Those lower on the ranks then Warren himself will have no protection from his nasty attitude. His hot temper and certain problems with basic good manners have stopped him from achieving a higher rank in his 35 years of service, even though he is quite obviously skilled at what he does.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: Skilled in his area of work, has a good willpower, excellent pilot (at least with older models of Vipers and Raptors), though he is a bit rough with small craft - he hasn't been in anything smaller then a full sized battlestar for years.

Weaknesses: Not very good in working with other people, somewhat depressed, hot temper that gets him in trouble a lot.
Ambitions
To survive, do his work, and perhaps earn a little something while doing it.
Hobbies & Interests
Smoking, gambling, drinking, shouting at his crew. He used to follow sports, but it's not really possible at the moment. Interested in military history.

Mother   Diana Grant

History
Warren Andrew Grant was the firstborn child to a wealthy family with strong military tradition in Tauron. During the time of the First Cylon War his father sent him to Caprica with rest of his family to safety. His father would perish at the early stages of the war, during one of the many assaults on Tauron. When Warren was old enough, he followed on his father's footsteps and enrolled at Colonial Military Academy, and found his speciality on ships – all kinds of ships. He started out as a Viper pilot, growing quite skilled in the technical aspects of the craft, but he soon realized that the fast-track hothead lifestyle of the pilot didn't quite fit him.

Warren moved from fighters to handling the flight aspects of larger ships, rising in the ranks of the Colonial Fleet. Although nobody could claim that he wasn't good at his job, his personal problems made the rise slow and painful, with constant clashes with other personnel and complaints from the men and women who were made to serve under him. Though there were many times when his accomplishments would have given him an promotion, his personality practically ensured that his superiors would promote him only under the conditions that there was nobody else available. And forever stubborn, Warren refused to budge anywhere.

It took him close to thirty years to achieve the rank of a Captain, receiving a medal for thirty years of ”devoted” service in the same process. During his career he had been moved around from ship to ship, with each Commander being glad to get rid of him when their turn came. A short time before the attack on the Twelve Colonies, he was transferred on Battlestar Megaera, in the hopes that he couldn't cause much problems there.

Serving proudly throughout the months following the destruction of the Colonies, he was promoted to the position of the Executive Officer of Battlestar Megaera when Delia McKinnon ascended to the place of Commander Blake.
