Physical Description		Being a petite woman, Urduja is agile and quick with her reflexes. Currently, she has cut her hair short. However, should she grow her hair again, she keeps it in a ponytail when on duty and loose while off duty. Physically, she is lean and muscular and despite her "short" stature, she is quite strong.

General Overview
Urduja "Pillbox" Torakin is a very introverted, nerd-like person at first glance. She also might look and sound like someone with a smart mouth and a lot of sarcasm, especially when dealing with her patients. She has a terrible bedside manner, which might come from pent up emotional stress and anger for the death of her fiance. She can be stubborn and has a nasty temper when stressed out. When she is on to something, she can go on for days without rest or sleep just to make sure she gets to finish what she started, even if it is a lost cause... She also gets easily stressed out or frustrated when things don't go her way... Because of her Virgon heritage, she grew up as an intellectual and might have a problem relating to people because before she met Red and after he died, she has buried herself in books. In other words, she might have a problem relating to the common layman because of her intellectual stature, not that she does it on purpose. Because of this mindset, she also has a problem accepting defeat or failure in the things that she does. However, despite her negative aura, Torakin is a good-hearted and caring person once someone can get to know her better. She's a softy, although she doesn't readily admit it up front, but she has a soft spot for children, especially babies and toddlers. She also has a tendency puts the needs of others than those of her own...

Urduja Torakin is the daughter of a famous Virgon Engineer and a Virgon doctor. She is the oldest of three children and had always devoted herself into making her parents feel proud of her. So as soon as she could go to school, she devoted every waking moment in learning and studying, not having time to have fun or do what she thinks are "irrelevant" activities. Because of this, she finished her basic educational training in Virgon 2 years ahead of schedule. At sixteen, she was ready to enroll at any university that she wanted. Unfortunately, with the Cylon war on the lose, she felt the need to "serve" the greater good, much to the dismay of her parents', especially when she decided to enroll as a Marine in the Virgon Colonial Academy. Feeling that she wasn't really a hardcore marine being the intellectual type, she decided to focus her attention in becoming the best Marine medic there could ever be.

After graduation from the Virgon Colonial Academy, Urduja was assigned to the Battlestar Kopernika as a Marine Field Medic. As a marine, she was referred to as "PillBox" because apart from being one good field medic, she apparently shoots like crazy when handed an automatic combat rifle and can easily finish a whole round of bullets on just one enemy alone... Yet despite that, she devoted her time and energy to doing her job right and making sure that none of the marines or civilians under her care were injured or otherwise would end up dead or at least if she can help it...

It was also during her posting in the Battlestar Kopernika that Urduja met Redoma Kaenakusgan aka Red. He was the squad leader for one of the Marine detachments for the Kopernika. He was also her squad leader. Red showed her that everything in life is not always about studying. He showed her that life should be lived as though there was no tomorrow, that life is not only about work, but also has "play" every now and then. He also taught her to socialize. With that, she expanded her one and only hobby of reading, to sparring and to playing card games with the other crew.

Unfortunately, after the incident that got Red killed, Urduja "Pillbox" Torakin quit her post in Kopernika and went back to Virgon to hit the books once more. Because of Red's death, she decided that the only way she can serve the Colonial Army is if she is in Sickbay doing what she did best: saving lives. She promised herself that she would not use a gun anymore nor hold it at the very least, and she panics when someone insists on having her carry a gun while on duty or in the field. She also became and introvert and she tends be quite irate when it comes to Marines because she knows how stubborn they can be as patients (with regards to her experience with Red) and can be very persistent about a Medic carrying a weapon on the field...

Much to the dismay of her parents, Urduja's seclusion led to a rift between her and her parents, and eventually this led to arguments with her siblings as well. Although she loved her family so much, the pain of losing someone she loved was something very foreign to her. In that sense, she became bitter and angry and this led to heated arguments with her family whenever she came to visit them in her free time. The only person whom she could confide to was her sister, who was a psychologist.

Upon her return to the Virgon Colonial Academy, Urduja went back to school and enrolled in the Medical Research College. There she finished her degree in General Medicine and spent several years in the VCA Medical Research College first as an intern, then as a resident, and then finally earning a seat as an assistant professor in the General Medicine staff. She was on her way back to Virgon from a Medical Convention when the news of the Cylon attack came. From that she feels guilty for not knowing what happened to her family, and not being able to reconcile with her parents before she left for the convention, and tries to see if there is any news at all about her family who is back in Virgon.
