Hunt was born on Caprica in one of the smaller cities to a middle class family, where he was reasonably successful in his studies as a child. At the age of 18 he was accepted to University however this did not last as he dropped out after only two years. It was then he decided to join the military, which had always been an ambition, where he planned to spend a few years before moving on to other things.
