With a quick smile and boyish charm, he can set most people at ease with a word or a look when he really wants to. He has a strong command presence and natural calmness about him that serves him well in the midst of combat or emergencies.

General Overview
Caden has often been described as a 'force of nature'. He easily dominates others by sheer force of will and can sometimes be seen as overbearing. This rough side to him is balanced by his sense of duty and his own natural concern for his fellows. As a Battlestar Commander, he often has to restrain himself and this is the reason he personally and carefully selected his own crew to help balance his weaknesses.

Caden has always wanted to command a Battlestar. He aspires not for glory in battle or the thrills of war, but he seeks to protect his people. He sees himself as a guardian, rather than a warrior. For now, he fully intends to do his duty, but he definitely desires to rise to flag rank within the Colonial Fleet.

Caden comes from a prominent merchant family and was raised in luxury. He attended the best schools and graduated near the top of his class. He was expected to follow in the footsteps of his forebearers and carry on the merchant tradition of his family.
He chose instead to undertake training to become a pilot in the Colonial Fleet, much to the disappointment of his father.

When his sister chose to follow Caden into the military, he was shunned by his father because he was blamed for influencing his sister. In spite of the heartache it caused him, he persevered. He adopted the Fleet as his new family and quickly rose through the ranks. Eventually he set his sights on Command and, unlike most pilots who wait for age to force them to leave the cockpit, he requested a transfer to the CIC. His exceptional record, combined with his superb performance at the Academy secured him the coveted position of XO on the Fleet's flagship, Battlestar Atlantia. He served for many years before being promoted and given his own command.

His personal life was filled with failed romances. The Fleet psyche-types speculate this is because, after being ostracized by his family, he can no longer bring himself to trust somebody on anything but a professional level.

 

Has served in the Colonial Fleet since he was 18. Has served on several ships, most notable of those Battlestar Galactica. He started his career as a viper pilot, but chose to pursue his ambitions of commanding a Battlestar. His transfer to Battlestar Atlantia as XO was his first assignment away from Viper Squadrons and towards this ambition. He has served as XO for many years before being promoted and given command of Battlestar Megaera.
